Poll Worker Requirements
- Be a citizen of the United States and a pre-registered or registered voter in St. Johns County
- Be able to clearly speak, read and write the English language
- Attend a minimum of 3 to 4 hours of poll worker training, depending on assigned position
- Have transportation to and from assigned voting locations
- Be available to work at 6 AM and work up to a 14-hour day
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 30 pounds, normal vision, and manual/physical dexterity
- You are not a candidate or have an immediate family member as a candidate on the ballot
- Have an active email address as well as access to a computer and internet
What Type of Training Do Poll Workers Need?
Per Florida Statutes (FS 102.014), poll workers are required to complete training prior to each election.
St. Johns County poll workers are required to complete online training before attending an in-person hands-on training. Training is specialized based on the position you are assigned.
Interested poll workers are also required to attend an initial Poll Worker Orientation before being offered the opportunity to complete training.
