Voting Equipment

DS200

The DS200 Digital scan tabulators are the foundation of the St. Johns County voting system.

Each voter will receive a paper ballot, mark the ballot by completing an oval next to the voter’s choice, and then place it into the DS200 for immediate tabulation.

Voters are alerted of improperly marked ballots and provided an opportunity to review their ballot and obtain a replacement when necessary.

ExpressVote

The ADA ExpressVote allows voters with disabilities to mark their ballot independently. Once a voter has selected their choices, the ExpressVote prints an abbreviated paper ballot that is inserted into the DS200.

An ExpressVote device is provided at each polling location on Election Day and each Early Voting Site.

DS850

The DS850 high-speed scanner and vote tabulator is used to tabulate vote-by-mail ballots. This scanner is capable of processing 300 ballots per minute, saving elections staff vulnerable time when tabulating results.

Results from early voting, precincts, and vote-by-mail ballots are combined at the Elections Office. After the polls close, election results are released to the public and posted on our website.

EViD Electronic Poll Book

EViDs are an electronic poll book used in place of printed paper poll books to check in voters prior to being issued a ballot.

They are one of the best tools we have to combat voter fraud, along with Florida law which requires Voter ID.

EViDs are updated in real time, and this communication allows our Poll Workers to determine if a voter has already voted or received a vote-by-mail ballot. It also allows them to direct voters to the correct polling place or update their information.
